Video Interview Questions for University of Alberta MBA ProgramAlberta MBA Program conducts two rounds of interview for admission to the Full Time MBA Program. First round is Video Interview, and second round is in Person/Skype Interview. Based on your preliminary review of application, Admissions Committee invites you for first round of interview i.e. video interview. This is more of a rejection round. If you qualify in the first round, admissions committee will invite you for second round of interview. In this article, I will provide list of Video Interview Questions for University of Alberta MBA Program.

Alberta MBA Program conduct video interview through Kira-Talent. Video interview has two parts: Practice Interview, and Main Interview. Before taking the main interview, you can practice to familiarize yourself with format of the interview. In video interview, you will have to answer four questions: three speaking, and one writing. I have provided below most of the questions from which you may get question during video interview.

Q1. Tell us about a time you failed. How did you feel and what did you learn?

Q1. Tell us about a mentor or a person who has influenced you. How so?

Q1. Tell us about a time you motivated people to drive change in an organization or community.

Q1. Tell us about a personal attribute that has helped you the most in getting you to where you are today.

Q1. Tell us about a situation where your values were challenged. How did you respond and what did you learn?

Q2. What do you do outside of work?

Q2. Albert Einstein once said, “The true sign of intelligence is not knowledge, but imagination.” What does this mean to you, and do you agree or disagree with it?

Q2. Who are some of the leaders you most admire? Why?

Q3. If you could fly anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?

Q3. Tell me about the pets you had growing up. If you didn’t have one, which would you have liked, and why?

Q1. Please describe a past situation at work that led you to grow as a person. How did you grow, and how has this impacted your life since then?

Q1. What is your general attitude towards life? How has this attitude impacted your career so far?

Q1. If you were a brand, what would be your motto?

Q1. Who is your role model, and why? How have they impacted you?

Q1. In what ways do you contribute to a positive work environment? Please provide an example.

Q1. Drawing on your work experience, please give me an example of a time when you wanted to give up, and chose not to. Why was this?

Q1. Please tell us about a time where your team at work was faced with a difficult situation. What did you do to help build morale and rally your team?

Q1. Describe what you have done at work to contribute towards a team environment? Be specific and provide an example.

Q2. If you had $40,000 to build your own business, what would you do? Why?

Q2. Please give us an example of an important goal which you had set in the past. How were you successful in reaching this goal?

Q2. Tell us about a project or accomplishment that you consider to be the most significant. Why did you choose this project or accomplishment?

Q2. Give us an example of one of your most successful accomplishments. What were the “indicators of success” that you looked for to ensure you were doing things right?

Q2. Please tell us about a time when you developed an action plan or specific strategies to achieve a particular goal or long-term business objective which resulted in desired outcomes. What was the outcome?

Q2. What would previous supervisors or colleagues say about your specific ability to overcome setbacks, adversity or failure? Please provide a specific example.

Q2. Describe a time when you went over and above your job expectations. What motivated you to put forth this extra effort?

Q3. How do you motivate yourself to complete unpleasant assignments? Please provide an example.

Q3. In what ways do you demonstrate personal accountability? Please provide an example.

Q3. Describe the level of trust and credibility you have with your clients, stakeholders and colleagues, and how you have developed it.

Q3. Please tell us about a time when you made a mistake, took responsibility for your actions and admitted you were wrong. What was the outcome?

Q3. What steps have you taken to enable you to become more effective in your position and/or in your career? Please provide an example.

Q4. Describe a time when you encouraged your team to accept change. What was the result of your encouragement?

Q4. Please provide an example of a time when you made an effort to apply a positive mind set when faced with a new situation at work. What was the outcome?

Q4. Please tell us about a time when a piece of work/project did not go so well. How did you handle the situation? What was the outcome?

Q4. Describe a time when you altered your behaviour to fit the situation at hand. What was the outcome?

Q4. Please tell us about a time when you had to change your point of view or your plans to take into account new information or changing priorities. What was the result of your actions?

Q4. Please tell us about a time when you changed your priorities to meet others’ expectations. What was the result of your actions?

Q4. Describe a time when you encouraged your team to accept change. What was the result of your encouragement?

Q4. Describe a time when you were asked to do something you weren’t trained to do. How did you handle it?

Before starting your interview, you may practice these questions. You are likely to get questions from the above list only.
